Our Geriatric Assessment programme helps prevent injuries and falls and guides the design of therapeutic exercise programmes. This innovative, high-quality service is for patients and healthy adults over 65. By identifying deficits in endurance, balance and strength, we can safely plan personalised rehabilitation or prevention programmes.
What does it involve?
The Geriatric Injury Assessment programme consists of 4 parts.
The first part involves assessment using the SFT (Senior Fitness Test), which consists of 6 tests that record everyday function in both healthy older people and older patients.
Stage 2 – Physical Activity
In the second part, the older person’s physical activity is recorded using a pedometer.
Stage 3 – Self-Report Questionnaires
In the third part, daily activity is recorded and quality of life is assessed using specially designed self-report questionnaires.
Stage 4 – Dynamometry
The fourth part uses dynamometry, tailored to each person’s needs, alongside an assessment of body asymmetries.
